Hi,
If I've understood correctly, wget's support for the metalink format depends
on the library libmetalink:
https://github.com/metalink-dev/libmetalink
Unfortunately, it looks like this library is no longer maintained.
Specifically, libmetalink's issue #3 was opened in 2020-09-22, asking whether
the library is still maintained:
https://github.com/metalink-dev/libmetalink/issues/3
At the current time, this issue has neither been answered nor closed. To me,
this suggests the library is no longer maintained.
This issue is on wget's dependency on libmetalink. Is the (apparent)
unmaintained status of libmetalink a concern? If so, what should be done about
it.
Cheers,
Paul.
