Hi Thomas,

I have just compiled the tarball below without any troubles.

Since I am not having the files in the BTRFS any more,
I am wondering now whether this

        xorriso -for_backup \
                -indev /dev/sr0 -outdev test-rebuild.iso \
                -joliet on -volid test-rebuild \
                -commit_eject all

would be a proper first test (now with 1GB RAM ;-).
Fully rebuilding the isofs by circumventing the linux filesystem filesystem
layer (if I understand correctly),
this ought to produce "isovfy-error-free" images - no matter whether the
"source DVD"
was generated with xorriso-1.3.8 or using your first rockridge.{c,h} patch.
I guess here I need -hardlinks on in order to maintain the hardlink structure
present in the original isofs?

Stressing xattr in the BTRFS will come afterwards.

Best wishes,
Jörg.

P.S.
I have checked on my MacBook (OS X 10.9.5 "Mavericks") again: After yesterday's
reboot, all DVDs can now be read.
(Since the built-in camera was not working after ~1 months of daily hibernation
cycles,
I suppose that's the reason why I could not even mount them before.)
The DVDs that I generated with "vanilla" xorriso-1.3.8 suffer from the same
issue as under linux,
i.e. the "troublemaker symlinks" are not accessible:

ls -l
/Volumes/gentoo-201501-ro/@gentoo-root.20150117-ext4_up_to_date/etc/ssl/certs
[...]
ls:
/Volumes/gentoo-201501-ro/@gentoo-root.20150117-ext4_up_to_date/etc/ssl/certs/Staat_der_Nederlanden_Root_CA_-_G2.pem:
 Invalid argument
[...]

Those based on your first rockridge.{c,h} patch do not show these problems.
