So it still looks like adding dummy bootable partition to MBR

It would need patching of the xorriso output or a future release

If you want such an option for grub-mkrescue then i am willing
to implement it. (-shadow_mbr_part ? --mbr-boot-dummy ?
Not easy to describe its nature and purpose. -alexanders_partition ?)

I propose --dummy-bootable-mbr-partition. I think it can be made non-overlapping if we waste a few sectors, but need to test.

Then, we'll need to define semantics for the case when another partition would be already bootable in the MBR. Move the bootable flag? Create two bootable partitions (which is invalid)? Ignore the switch? Warn? Leave undocumented? Well, I don't really care :)
