Currently for instance on Linux/glibc platform cfengine doesn't support files of over 2 gigabytes in size. For example an lstat call in code implementing the files action generates an error when it encounters a large file. This can be fixed with a simple recompilation with some special compilation flags (eg. -D_LARGEFILE_SOURCE -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 on Solaris 8 and -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 on Linux). A portable way to query these flags is described in <URL:>. Based on this I created a patch against of cfengine-2.1.10. Now cfengine is automatically compiled with large file support if it's available. Please apply the patch.
