![]() Old age is the verdict of life. In general, mankind, since the improvement of cookery, eats twice as much as nature requires. Some people go to priests others to poetry I to my friends. A man gazing on the stars is proverbially at the mercy of the puddles in the road. Never chain your dogs together with sausages. One must accustom one's self to be bored. Love and work are the cornerstones of our humanness. The glory of the gospel is that when the church is absolutely different from the world, she invariably attracts it. Fame, we may understand, is no sure test of merit, but only a probability of such it is an accident, not a property of man. Our job is not to set things right but to see them right. I am a communist because I believe that the Communist idea is a state form of Christianity. It was Greek to me. It is well, I die hard, but I am not afraid to go.
