Maybe the same should be done to `directory?':
On windows:
(directory? (current-directory)) => #t
(directory? ".") => #t
(directory? ".\\") => #f
On GNU/Linux
(directory? (current-directory)) => #t
(directory? ".") => #t
(directory? "./") => #t
