There’s probably little chance of someone confusing the two, but I don’t think that Clojure’s nrepl ( is deprecated. It’s still maintained and widely used.

There was an associated emacs package (nrepl.el) that’s been renamed and expanded as the “cider” package: . It uses tools.nrepl.
