Hi,
The problem has been solved with the latest update of LaTeX.

Hi

Are you having problems with just the CJK fonts, or does this problem also appear in Latin script?

The latest changes to the CJK code occurred in 2018.

Is there a minimal sample file you can share, and any associated log files?

Regards

Hi,

I use pdfLaTeX and CJKutf8 in a text that includes Latin/Japanese/Chinese characters.

I have installed TeXLive 2021 (more precisely MacTeX 2021 for Mac OS X (intel processor)). I update the packages daily.

Everything was fine until the beginning of June 2021. But, with the latest package updates, \textit{...} or \texbf{...} no longer give italics or bold. It seems that the problem comes from the CJK package because when I don't use it, italics and bold are rendered correctly.
Has anyone experienced the same problem with CJKutf8 and the very latest updates of TeXLive?

Sincerely

Frédéric Dupont
