Yes, it shows who is working on what (whether some piece of code is
actively maintained) and posting the actual diff also makes it much more
likely that someone will quickly read over it. That makes spotting
bugs/features much easier.

I saw some people posting references to savannah cvsweb for patches they
committed. Please just post the complete patch (diff -uN) before
committing.
