Sounds OK to me. It's bad programming style to depend on includes in other included files, but if the single line change is required to build eclipse's native parts, so be it.

I think it is best to report this as a bug to the Eclipse hackers.
Even the simplest JNI example that I could find
says you should include stdio.h separately.

Okay, that makes sense. Thanks for checking, Mark, I'll forward this discussion to Jan Schulz, Debian Eclipse packager, and ask him to file a bug against eclipse upstream.
