Thank you for the rapid response. Here are the outputs you requested:

address@hidden /cygdrive/c/Users/Daryush/Downloads/htk
$ file ./config.sub
./config.sub: POSIX shell script, ASCII text executable, with CRLF line terminators

$ wc -l ./config.sub
1822 ./config.sub

Then you must be doing something wrong.  What does:

  $ file ./config.sub
and
  $ wc -l ./config.sub

say?
