This is off-thread, but

1) It would be great to have a free software replacement for doodle so
that everybody could run his/her meeting agreement service on his/her
own web server (there is no technical need for a central server for all
meetings in the world, and centralizing this kind of information hurts
privacy).

2) With the current doodle, you can not express fine-grained
preferences: for instance, you can not say "I am busy on monday, I have
an appointment on tuesday which I could cancel to be free, but would
really prefer wenesday".

3) Voting late and strategically pays off in doodle.

A free sofware replacement with preference voting that everybody could
incorporate in his/her own website would be IMHO a very good way to
popularize preference voting concepts and algorithms, which
in my opinion is a good (indirect) way to promote demexp.

Unfortunately, I have no time to implement this by myself (but am ready
to discuss and help).

Any volunteer?

Juste quelques remarques sur doodle :

1) Ce serait super d'avoir un doodle libre, que chacun pourrait faire
tourner sur son propre serveur web (centraliser tous les rendez-vous du
monde ne répond à aucune nécessité technique mais cela met en danger
notre vie privée).

2) Doodle, tel qu'il est, ne permet pas d'exprimer des préférences
fines du type "je suis libre lundi, je pourrais me libérer mardi mais
je préférerais mercredi".

3) Ceux qui votent tard et stratégiquement sur doodle s'en voient
récompensés.

AMHA, une version libre de doodle avec vote préférentiel que chacun
pourrait inclure à son site web permettrait de diffuser les idées et
les algorithmes de vote préférentiel, ce qui me semble un bon moyen
(indirect) de promouvoir demexp.

Je n'ai malheureusement pas le temps de le faire moi-même, mais suis
prêt à en discuter et à donner des coups de main.

Y a t-il des volontaires ?
