I can see what is going on here. Choosing Input->MIDI Input is calling
code in midi.c which if HAVE_JACK is just calling init_jack() and
returning.
So we can make an immediate improvement by not doing that - then you
will get (internal) fluidsynth midi input.
Did init_jack() ever init midi input? There seem to be no references to
input_port being set up in jack.c so I don't see how it ever did, unless
I carelessly deleted it?
I'll do the first fix right now, as it will be better than nothing.
