BTW I see you specify --prefix
There is a note on denemo.org that you need also to specify --sysconfdir, but
perhaps this is only when not installing as root. See
http://denemo.org/index.php/Compiling

./configure --prefix=/mypath/ --sysconfdir=/mypath/
