There is a button PDF on the typeset view to allow you to work around
the problems with printer dialogs. The printer dialog belongs to your
computer as far as I can tell, so I don't think we have any control over
its behavior. (This could be a bug in evince which is the component that
is launching the printer dialog). So use PDF and then some program that
is able to print the pdf file.

There are no reports of problems with GNU/Linux.
