Multiple syllables to one note can also be marked in Lilypond with a
tilde (~). This creates a lyric tie. For example:
 A pure~heart~crea -- ate~for~me,~O God,
See

You can also create stanzas at the end with the Denemo function
Movements > Titles > Text after Movement. It has the advantage that you
can chose the layout youself, but it may involve some lilypond coding. I
have also written a script LilypondAfterMovement, which you can use,
e.g., to typeset verses at the end in multiple columns. If you're
interested, I can send you an example.
