on the numeric keypad ("Add") it is used for sharpen, with shift (Shft
+Add) for sharpening the enharmonic range.

It's because on the standard U.S. keyboard the "+" sign is inscribed on
the upper part of the key (Shft+equal) with the "=" sign "equal" while
"-" is on the lower part.
So the two keys beside the backspace key give sharpen and flatten,
pending unless the shift key is held down.

There appears to be a spurious shortcut "plus" registered for the
d-Sharpen command. I think this is not assigned to any actual key. If
anyone knows better please say, else I'll delete it.
