The files you sent are from version 1.0 of Denemo's XML export format,
support for which would seem to have gotten dropped at some stage. I've
patched it back in (*) and pushed the fix to the source repository. As
you are working on Windows you can download the fixed version after
tonight's build (night-time in Chicago that is):

(this is a no-install version of Denemo).

If you have any difficulty re-instating your old shortcut system please
ask. You can always see the current set of shortcuts that you have set
via the menu Help->Shortcuts

(*) I should say that the files you sent had partly empty measures as
parsed back in; these would need to be filled out (or left entirely
blank) for them to typeset properly. I don't know if that is some
artifact of the parsing that has crept in over the years or was a
feature of the original files...
