Hi

Several of us Devon and cornwall linux user group members are currently
discussing how to promote linux and discussing setting up this LTSP
network up at the light house music centre in paignton

right now we are simply cc'ing each other by e-mail, and then hopefully
hitting reply all so we can reply to everyone.

I was thinking as the sw list is not that active,  perhaps we could take
such discussions on to there :

1. its there, set up and there to be used.

2. Ok as members of the dclug we are NOT young people, but the
lighthouse project and other projects we want to get involved with will
hopefully benefit young people as well as the local (torbay) community
in some way.

3. if there is active discussion on the list, it may encourage more
young people to get in touch and involved. At the moment if someone asks
what we do, they get a rather vague response.  Any projects need a lot
of support,  so any young people who are interested in free / open
source can be encourged to lend a hand either during or post set up it
would be really useful and take pressure from the small group of dclug
members involved.

4. If young people are interested in helping they could see if they can
apply for appropriate funding, for a similar project, we as lug members
could support them in the project,  i amnot looking for a way of using
young people to get funding,  but empower young people to get involved
adn do their own project, but with the help / support from the lug if
they need / would like it.

5. I think the discussion would also be relevant

I would be grateful for any thoughts on this.
