I removed nonfree software promotion as free distros don't allow such packages.

Can this be extended to cover the contribution/support process?

I try my best to avoid software with this requirement, but it
gets tougher every day with the rise of non-Free network
services.

Sometimes, I'll rely on a side channel such as Debian BTS and
maintainers to forward the bug upstream.
