the point is to reach a consensus and for the FSF to state a definitive
opinion on the controversy and then either to remove them from the
directory or to get to the root of the issue and fix the problem if
there is one
indeed currently some such programs are listed in the directory but that
is but one symptom of a bigger issue - recently the FSF published an
interview promoting the QtWebEngine-based qupzilla browser while that
program along with all other electron and QtWebEngine-based programs are
currently blacklisted from FSDG distros so there are some mixed signals
floating about and distros have no answer for users to the question of
why we are in the predicament - the intention here is to achieve some
overall rational consistency as opposed to blind witch-hunting - i say
blind because this recent news about electron is actually the first time
that anyone i know has been able to indicate anything conclusive
