I have used https://metacpan.org/dist/WWW-Mediawiki-Client/view/bin/mvs in the
past with Mediawikis and it has worked very well. Let us know if it (or other
API clients) don't work with our instance.
mvs gives you a VCS-like interface to Mediawiki. Very similar to what you would
get with git.
