While the Micro-Tel 1200 is an excellent receiver (I own one) it is no more 
suitable for GNU Radio applications than any other quality analog receiver 
with an IF output.  And without external mixers, it will not receive into 
the GHz range.

As an aside, you won't be able to get that weird drive belt anywhere.  Mine 
is intact, but a colleague found it to be unobtainable (which is probably 
why this unit sold so cheaply on ebay.)
