Ian is correct.. There are pockets of MPT1327 activity in the US and IIRC it's really the only protocol available for doing trunking on 220 MHz. I believe most of the MPT1327 activity in the US is on 220 MHz.
TAIT (a New Zealand-based radio manufacturing outfit) has been trying to sell MPT1327 in the US for a couple of years now. Zetron (a US-based radio infrastructure provider) has been also been trying to sell MPT1327 controllers. However, unless the big three (Motorola, M/A-Com, EF Johnson) start heavily marketing MPT1327 to the US, it will remain a minor player here...
