To Johnathan and the GNUradio discussion group,

Thank you for the feedback.
I put in the command and can hear a dial tone,
so the installation was successful.
Here are two additional questions:

My next step is to connect up an USRP and get familiar with the setup.
(1) Are there any starting experiments that I can perform?

Also, I am planning on modifying the source code in the future.
(2) Do I need to uninstall the binary code completely and then reinstall GNU 3.2? What are the steps?

Sorry, I missed the part about not actually having a connected USRP.

To verify your GNU Radio installation, go to:

$ cd /usr/share/gnuradio/examples/audio

Then run the dial tone example application:

$ ./dial_tone.py

(Type CTRL-C to exit.)

If you hear the tone, then it's working.
