Use your admin tools to tell Network Manager you want it static rather than DHCP/Automatic.  You can use ifconfig to change the
  current IP address, but Network Manager will come along and clobber that unless it's told not to.

I should point out that, long-term, you're better to learn some basic sys admin stuff outside of this forum, because it will be very helpful
  not just with Gnu Radio, but with anything else you might want to do with your computer, and discuss-gnuradio just isn't the place to
  be getting that knowledge.
