Are you successfully compiling your block that includes the serial library? I recently had a similar problem where my block compiles but has a swig runtime error. It is most likely that your install cannot find the library to link to at runtime. Try modifying LD_LIBRARY_PATH to include the path to your serial library. Here is the command you would use: 'export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/path/to/serial' - Seth
