Hi,

I'm running modified Slackware64-14.1 on my laptops and desktop computers. I just built 3.7.8.1 using the gnuradio.SlackBuild provided by slackbuilds.org. I am observing the same behavior on all my machines. One is intel based and the other two are AMD64 based. I have not upgraded gcc (still at 14.1 patch level which is 4.8.2). I am using cmake 3.3.2 and swig 3.0.7. Not all menu items are "strange" Just a few like audio-sink and audio-source, FCD, Modulator, to name a few. If I get time I will try to send a screenshot of the grc menu.

You're much farther along than I am on python so I can not help much in that area. My python is stock install from 14.1, version 2.7.5.

As I recall, this behavior has cropped up in 3.6 and 3.7 of gnuradio for me but it wasn't much of an issue at the time.

Cheers,

Fred

I'd like to have a go at debugging this, but due to gnuradio's size I have
no real idea how to start. Can anyone give me a pointer?

Investigating a little, I found that the strange directory structure seems to
come from a call to 'self.platform.load_block_tree'. Manually navigating the
treestore after that call (in BlockTreeWindow.py), the strange structure is
already there.

I've been tracing around in that function, but it's 2 AM, so I'll have to
postpone further investigation till tomorrow... (and this is stretching my
knowledge of Python)

John
