Some more information about the problem I have running the installed version.

In the GNYRADIO command prompt shell I run python and then
>> from gnuradio import filter

and I get the following:

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module>
  File "C:\Program Files\GNURadio-3.7\lib\site-packages\gnuradio\filter\__init__
.py", line 32, in <module>
    from filter_swig import *
  File "C:\Program Files\GNURadio-3.7\lib\site-packages\gnuradio\filter\filter_s

    _filter_swig = swig_import_helper()

    _mod = imp.load_module('_filter_swig', fp, pathname, description)
ImportError: DLL load failed with error code -1073741795

Any help is welcome,

I installed the binary files
gnuradio_3.7.9.2_win64.msi
on a Win-8 machine succefullyon the default directory.

After running gnuradio-companion file from the Gnuradio 3.7
start menu folder I see a command window opening with message
"setting gnuradio environment",
then a couple of warnings of the sort:

** (python.exe:5392): WARNING **: Trying to register gtype 'GMountMountFlags' as
 enum when in fact it is of type 'GFlags'

** (python.exe:5392): WARNING **: Trying to register gtype 'GDriveStartFlags' as

** (python.exe:5392): WARNING **: Trying to register gtype 'GSocketMsgFlags' as
enum when in fact it is of type 'GFlags'

and then the "standard" gnuradio window appears with the import-error warning

------------------------
Cannot import gnuradio.

Is the python path environment variable set correctly?
    All OS: PYTHONPATH

Is the library path environment variable set correctly?
    Linux: LD_LIBRARY_PATH
    Windows: PATH
    MacOSX: DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH

(DLL load failed with error code -1073741795)

any thoughts as to what is going wrong?

thanks
