Hey the higher sample rate fixed it.  It is functioning every time at a 10M rate.  Thanks!

One thing I'll comment on is that you should never need to run any of this stuff as root (via sudo). 

You might try a more recent version of UHD (and matching FPGA code) to see if this fixes it.

Also, does the problem go away if you use a higher sample rate?
