[Discuss-gnuradio] Internet connectivity; forward link over air, reverse

Subject: [Discuss-gnuradio] Internet connectivity; forward link over air, reverse link over cable?

Hi,
We have a forward DVB-S2 link between two nodes in our lab. This has been implemented using USRP. Right now its a unidirectional link, so that we can do UDP broadcasts.

We want to establish internet connection using this link but we do not have reverse connection, i.e., the receiver cannot send data back to the transmitter.
In my understanding any internet protocol will need a reverse link also.

Is it possible to have the reverse link via other medium, for example an ethernet cable. This is solely for demo purpose. Is this idea remotely possible ?

I have shown this in the picture attached. The red line is forward link which is implemented. The idea is to provide internet connection from the CPU A to the CPU B or may be simple SSH from A to B and file transfer. Is the reverse link possible by connecting an Ethernet cable from B to A.

Its a very crude idea and I have limited knowledge of networking, so before digging blindly on internet it will be very helpful if I get some useful suggestions here.

Regards
Sumit
