The "*" should not be there. For the rest, it is one of the names that
usually refer
to the Acrobat Reader utility (the PDF file viewer from Adobe).

I also found an partial answer to my initial post.
If I move the application wrapper to /usr/GNUstep/System/Apps/, it
works.
Should'nt $HOME/Local/Apps/ be a valid directory as well (assuming
default GNUstep
environment setup)?
