Default build for xdps

Hi all,

I am trying to force xdps to be build in gnu-gnu-gnu-xdps for my linux
machine in a nice way. So I set in xdps.make.in
  BACKEND_DEFINE = -DXDPS_BACKEND_LIBRARY=1
  GUI_BACKEND_LIB = xdps

But still creates, after ./configure, make:

Making all in Source...

mkdir -p ./shared_obj/ix86/linux-gnu/gnu-gnu-gnu-xgps
mkdir -p ./shared_obj/ix86/linux-gnu/gnu-gnu-gnu-xgps/SharedX

So I guess I still do not understand the functioning of the makefile
system. Can someone explain to me why it is not working and what might
be the solution.
