gcc-3.0 (or something else) problem

For switching to the new compiler I've:

- rm the old GNUstep dir, /usr/GNUstep, in this case.

- make distclean in all the sources

- recompiled and reinstalled ffcall with the new compiler
(--prefix=$GNUSTEP_SYSTEM_ROOT)

- ldconfig

- installed make

- . $GNUSTEP_SYSTEM_ROOT/Makefiles/GNUstep.sh

At this point a problem appears:

configuring base, ffcall is not detected anymore.

Is this a known problem? Am I forgetting something?
