Manuel,

Here is exactly what I did.   I have also tried this on a friend's machine with
identical results.   This is puzzling since it seemed to work for you and you
got a different md5sum than I did.   Another member on the list has also
emailed me with the same problem.

I have seen this problem w/ every core archive since 7/30 on
ftp.gnustep.org/pub/daily-snapshots.   Core archives from before that work just
fine and bzip2 does not detect any errors.

Listing follows:

You can use the `bzip2recover' program to attempt to recover
data from undamaged sections of corrupted files.

[root@genoa /data2]# bzip2 --version
bzip2, a block-sorting file compressor.  Version 1.0.1, 23-June-2000.
