GNUStep problems on Mandrake 8 |

Hi! All,
1)
I've successfully built GNUStep from the CVS on a Mandrake 8 linux box.
However when I run the apps, the font_cacher crashes and along with it X
crashes as well. When I disable the font cacher, everything works ok but only
monospaced fonts show up and the GUI flickers and is not so smooth. So
what's the problem ? (I use a lot of true type fonts and not using a font
server.)
2)
Is gnustep base buildable as a DLL on Win32 ? I've convinced a few friends of
mine to do a native Win32 port of the GUI.
3)
A lecturer in my college is willing to do some docu work. I think
converting the docs to DocBook will be a good idea . Any suggestions ?
4)
The specs (esp. the AppKit reference) are huge and it will take ages for me
to download them. Alternatives highly appreciated.
5)
I know a few bookstores dealing with Linux and FreeBSD merchandise and
am sure will be interested in dealing gstep T-shirts. Whom should I contact ?
Eagerly awaiting replies,
(Sorry for being so long...)
