Do I know about this one already?  I thought we'd eliminated all
the accidental appearances of AltiVec instructions a while ago.



It was entered in the Darwin bug database (not sure what the real name of that is) by LHelldorf@kabel.de. He also sent some mails to the darwin developer list about it. The actual error messages are something like:

/var/tmp/ccspbaaa.s:1753:vector instruction is optional for the PowerPC (not 
allowed without -force_cpusubtype_ALL option)

when the file includes __builtin_apply, etc.
