I know this has been discussed before, but I didn't see a conclusion
what to do. Simply deinstalling fonts is not an option for users,
which have not admin rights on a machine. This time this got reported
for the preferences application (http://bugs.debian.org/144942).
Well, the current solution is to add a user default 'GSFontMask' which
specifies the pattern to search for, say
defaults write NSGlobalDomain GSFontMask "*iso10646*"
for a particular encoding. Not the best solution. A better one will come
along in the future, but I'm not sure when (or what, really).
