Welcome

   Welcome to the GNUstep Community website. As with every community
   there are some shared interests and some common goals. The interest
   part is [1]GNUstep, the best Object Oriented development environment
   around, and the goal is world domination.

   For world domination we need software and documentation and that is
   what this site is about.

                             Editorial 03 May 2002

   Adam announced the New (Unstable) Releases with versions: make 1.3.2,
   base 1.3.2, gui 0.7.7, back 0.7.7

Code changes

   After the above mentioned release Adam Fedor recreated all configure
   scripts with autoconf 2.53

   Richard Frith-Macdonald had a busy week on gnustep-base. Base should
   now be more robust on Windows!

   Adam helped to overcome a Solaris limitation in NSView for
   gnustep-gui.

   And Fred Kiefer worked on gnustep-back the Windows classes, while
   Ludovic Marcotte worked on XGFontManager.

   It was a quiet week which makes the unstable release more likely to be
   stable ;)

Official GNUstep releases

   This is a new section in the editorial. From now on I will put in this
   sectrion the changes and updates of the official GNUstep applications.
     * GNUMail.app 1.0.1
     * Pantomime 1.0.3

   Happy Stepping,
   Dennis Leeuw
