Sorry, part of this missing functionality was a task that I agreed to take at the GNUstep developer meeting at the FOSDEM. I actually wrote the code for the system colour handling (it is more general, a different way to handle named colours) but did not submit it, as I had no chance to test it on a Linux machine. I am currently switching between different countries I live in, so there are different machines where I do my GNUstep development on. And the NSColor code happened to be on the Windows computer. This time I will take it back to the Linux machine test it there and submit it.
