Yes, I'm quite inspired by GNUMail because of this very thing.  Not only
were you able to develop a polished mail client quickly but it runs on OS
X and all UNIX platforms that GNUstep runs on; *and* it has a beautiful
UI on both platforms.  If OS X developers see enough of this kind of
thing and find that it's easy to build cross-platform applications, I
think they will get fired up and some will start helping out.
