Adam has been vigorously trying to get ObjC support into gdb main line. 
He had posted a patch against on this list some snapshot of cvs gdb 
august/september:

I'm not sure whether it patches against the original version of gdb 5.2 
but it might be worth a try.

Maybe someone could fix it up to work with gdb 5.2 and put it on:
ftp://ftp.gnustep.org/pub/gnustep/patches

Better yet, kindly ask on mailto:gdb@sources.redhat.com what the status 
of the ObjC patches are.
