Yes/no ... certainly the NSLocalNotificationCenterType should be local to
the machine, but the documentation says nothing about it being private
to a user. I'd consider making it local a bugfix, but making it private might
be considered to be introducing a bug by MacOS-X people.

I hacked in a quick fix to get it to use the loopback network interface so
that distributed notifications are only locally available (unless NSHost
dictates otherwise).
