As far as I know, nobody started to work on a MDI framework.
My personal opinion is that MDI UI like in windows are absolutely 
awful and
miss the point. What you want is perhaps more the possibility of 
easily arrange
windows, dock them, etc. (after all that's one of the interest of 
NSDrawer,
to keep a window linked to another window) -- but that's not really a 
MDI
feature per se, and anyway that would be the role of the window 
manager.
