hhh, but are not the SPARC version of 64 bit and the AMD version of 64 bit
rather different animals ? Specificly I was under the impression that on
a SPARC both int and long are 64 bits, but on AMD64 an int is still 32
bits even though a long is 64 bits. That might break some code under AMD
which would work on SPARC.
Note that the above is entirely "something I am sure I read somewhere" and
I cant actually check it until I can get home and reboot my AMD64 box into
UNIX.
