Hello,
I am a long time KDE user and I also have some programming experience with
C/C++/Qt/KDE. Recently I bought an old HP 9000/712 Gecko with Nextstep and I
really like the system. I decided to teach myself some Objective-C during the
christmas holidays. Tod do this I bought Stephen Kochan's book "Programming
in Objective-C".
I also plan to install GNUStep. I am using debian unstable and since GNUStep
is in Debian unstable, it should not be too hard to install it.
Now my question is, are there any "easy-to-do" jobs to help with GNUStep and
learn more about GNUStep?
One thing I would be particullarly interested in is to see a webbrowser for
GNUStep. I know that Stefan Kleine Stegemann was working on GNUStep Webkit.
Is he still working on the project? Is someone else working on it? How far is
this from being useable? How difficult would it be to make it useable?
I know that in principle GNUStep could just use Apples Webkit if gcc would
support ObjC++. How far is ObjC++ from being incorporated into gcc?
Are there any other interesting things a newbie to GNUStep could to and which?
Thanks in advance,
Michael
