multi process issues

we just release a beta of our (GNUstep based) product in the wild wild 
world.
some bug report already comes in!

One user tried to open multiple file at a time (very easy with Windows 
Explorer) which triggers 3 process.
They all try to access various GNUstep resource at more or less the same 
time, and some of them fail with this exception:
NAME:NSGenericException REASON:Failed to remove lock directory 'C:/Documents 
and Settings/gavin/GNUstep/Defaults/.GNUstepDefaults.lck' - Access is 
denied.

is there some GNUstep settings I could do to work around them?
