function pointer

I want to set a function pointer passing it to an object. I think it
would be something like this

-(int) setPotential: (double)(*potential)(double r, void * par);

but the compiler returns

error: syntax error before '(' token

I can't figure out where is the problem. Someone have any idea? Thanks.
