Markus,

Apple will, per the terms of the GPL, be obliged to contribute back the code for ObjC2.0, if they made the changes to gcc to implement it.

Hello all,

as many of you might know already, today is Apple's WWDC and they
didn't forget to give some hints/promises about the(ir) future of
Objective-C. As far as I can see, this stuff will go to paying
developers now and to the public in spring 2007. Dunno how much is in
FSF's gcc already.

From <http://www.apple.com/macosx/leopard/xcode.html>:

Objective-C 2.0

[...]Enjoy modern garbage collection, syntax enhancements, runtime
performance improvements, and 64-bit support. [...] it’s backwards
compatible with existing Objective-C source.

Cheers,
Markus
