The make_services program reads this stuff and caches a binary  
representation of the info for all apps which are installed in  
standard places.
The gui library reads the cached data in order to implement features  
of the NSWorkspace class.

It's stored in the application bundle, and doing 'make install' puts  
the application in the correct place your your system (eg /usr/ 
GNUstep/Local/Applications).
